The benefits of Infrared sauna

Do you know the many benefits of a sauna?

Did you know that a 30-minute session in an infrared sauna burns the same number of calories as a 10 km run?

Why do you think that is?

Simply because the action of the sauna’s infrared rays enables our body to work up a sweat, eliminating toxins and burning fat, which improves the cellular tone of our whole body.

This method improves heart health and strengthens the heart. In addition, the Infrared Sauna uses these visualized infrared rays to increase cellular tissue resonance, accelerate blood circulation, improve organic functions and relax muscular tension.

What are infrared rays?

As the name suggests, infrared radiation is used to heat the body directly. As body tissues are heated first, the heat in an infrared sauna does not exceed 60°C, whereas it is between 70 and 90°C in a Finnish sauna. It’s a well-known fact that, despite the lower heat, we sweat up to 6 times more, which improves blood circulation and makes muscles supple more quickly.

The infrared sauna uses type C rays, known as “far rays”, which penetrate our skin no more than 4 mm, just enough to warm our bodies without harming our organism.

What are the benefits of an infrared sauna for the body?

An infrared sauna provides beneficial heat and has long been used for medical purposes, helping to relieve a variety of ailments. The beneficial effect of infrared heat is largely due to the fact that the heat influences our body from within; our blood vessels dilate, metabolism speeds up and blood circulation improves.

This can be particularly beneficial for people who are limited to visiting conventional saunas due to their state of health. For example, for those suffering from asthma, infrared saunas relieve or even eliminate many symptoms. In addition, the effects of infrared heat have proved beneficial for other health problems, such as acne, backache, arthritis, eczema, joint pain, cold symptoms, sore muscles…

However, there are some recommendations to bear in mind:

→ Shower before the session, dry off thoroughly and take a cold shower when you come out.
→ Place a towel on the bench before sitting down

→ Drink water or a beverage after a session to compensate for the loss associated with sweating

→ The maximum duration is 30 minutes.

Do not use the sauna :

→ If you have skin injuries, eye disease or severe burns

→ For elderly or weak people, pregnant women and infants

→ For people with health problems, ask your doctor
